Transparent Project Estimation and Planning1 Use case = 10 function points. This simple formula brings Function Point Analysis (FPA) to the estimation phase of a software project and takes emotion and politics out of the estimates. Sounds too good to be true, right? Believe it or not, but measurements show that the FPA estimates are within 5% of the actual spent effort. Together with Festa Engine's productivity of 3 hours per function point, project planning becomes a child's game. FPA, being a standardized software measurement method, can be verified by 3rd parties. This delivers ultimate transparency to your customer. |
Tracking of FPs Gives Ultimate VisibilityIt is not bold to state that most engineers do not like reporting on their activities. Experience taught them that the more detailed the reporting, the less useful it turned out to be. Festa SAAS made progress reporting as easy as possible. In less than a minute, by just a few mouse clicks, engineers can report their progress. By providing your customer with view access to the project, he can instantly get a grasp on the developments of your projects. Since Festa SAAS is hosted in the cloud, all stakeholders have all information available around the clock and around the globe. |
Continuous ChangeOne of the principles behind agile development is the welcoming of change. We do not like to freeze scope, even not for 2 to 4 weeks. Festa SAAS contains a dedicated Change Request (CR) module that separates the CR workflow from the project plan. The impact analysis is entirely based on FPA, providing you detailed insight of the CR impact. The MDA principles of Festa Engine ensures that changes will not disrupt the quality of your software. That is why we are not afraid to accept changes up to a few days before 'going live'. We call this the concept of 'Continuous Change'. |
Time TravelIn the turmoil of a Festa project, you might forget what the status of the project was a month ago. Or you might want to measure the current progress against a certain moment back in time. Use the probe and reference date to rewind the project back in time any way you like and reproduce all the dashboards and charts. |
Dashboards and ChartsThe following reports give instant overview of the status of a project:

Product vs. Project FP CountingLiterally speaking, FP counting is aimed at a software product and not a software project. Building a module of x FPs, increases both the FP count for product and project. However, if you remove that same module, the FP count for the product decreases, whereas the FP count for the project remains the same. Festa SAAS keeps track of both counts. |
